IOSA.it Open Archaeology

IOSA is about doing things. In the past years we have been developing a number of projects, either with software development or collecting and testing best practices for open digital archaeology.

Software projects

• Total Open Station is a tool for downloading and processing survey data from total stations, on any operating system
• IOSACal is the IOSA library for radiocarbon calibration
• TIPOM is our most recent effort, an archaeological journey in archaeological software

Other projects

• Quantitative Archaeology Wiki is a place for collaborative writing of documentation about quantitative methods in archaeology, statistics
• ICCD is an effort to collect templates and scripts that are meant to be compatible with ICCD directives, Italy’s standards for cataloguing of cultural heritage items
